Once your tenancy agreement is signed and all funds have been received, your move-in date will be confirmed. On the day, you'll come to our office to pick up your keys and a member of our team will talk you through everything you need to know.
Once you get to your new home, you should:
Go through each room referencing the inventory report and make note of anything you disagree with or feel we have missed.
If you notice anything after your check-in that you feel should have been recorded on the inventory, please let us know within 7 days of your move-in date.
Give us a call if you have any questions. If anything is unclear or you're unsure about anything on the inventory, just pick up the phone and speak to a member of our team.
You are responsible for setting up and paying for your own utilities from the date your tenancy begins. This includes: Gas and electricity, Broadband and telephone. We recommend contacting utility providers as soon as possible after your move-in date to register in your name. Your meter readings from the check-in will help ensure you are only billed from the date your tenancy starts.
You are responsible for registering with your local council for council tax purposes from your tenancy start date. You may be entitled to a discount depending on your circumstances — for example, if you are the sole adult occupant of the property. Contact the council directly to register and to find out if any discounts apply to you.
Your landlord's buildings insurance covers the structure of the property and any landlord-owned fixtures and fittings — it does not cover your personal belongings. We strongly recommend that you arrange your own contents insurance before or on the day you move in. This will protect your possessions against theft, damage, fire, and other risks.
